What should I bring?
We recommend that you check your event’s flyer for packing information that may be specific to your facility (such as towels, sheets, sleeping bags for camping weekends, etc.), but it’s never a bad idea to bring a mug for hot drinks between meals, any musical instruments you have for jamming, and a swimsuit in case your facility has a pool. But most importantly, bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to have fun!
Are meals provided at ECRS events?
Food and snacks are included in the cost for most of our events, but since some events only provide certain meals, please check your event’s flyer to determine whether you need to bring any additional food.
Are drugs or alcohol allowed at ECRS events?
No, all ECRS events are drug and alcohol free.
Does ECRS provide group transportation?
When registering for an event, attendees are given the choice of indicating whether they need a ride or if they will be able to offer a ride to others. ECRS provides drivers with the names of those who need a ride and live nearby, but whether a ride can actually be arranged is up to the discretion of the driver.
Are there any newcomer discounts available?
Yes! Almost all of our events provide some sort of newcomer discount to make it easier for you to check us out for the first time. Please see your event’s flyer on the Upcoming Events page for more information.
Does ECRS offer work scholarships?
Yes, ECRS offers limited work scholarships for those who prepare/coordinate snacks or assist with Children’s Program, as well as Memorial Scholarship for those who use recreation skills in their work. Please see your event’s flyer on the Upcoming Events page for more information about how to apply.
Do I have to be an ECRS member to come to an event?
Anyone can register for and attend any of our events, regardless of ECRS membership status. For a list of additional benefits that ECRS members receive, please check out the Membership page.
Does ECRS have a mailing list?
Yes, ECRS has both a snail-mail list and an e-mail list for periodic event updates. To be added to either, please email ecrsnews@gmail.com with your name and address, as well your desire to be included on future mailings.
Does ECRS discriminate based on race, religion, sexuality, or age?
No, ECRS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies, scholarship programs, or other administered programs. We are an open community that welcomes people of all colors, ages, sexualities, and religious backgrounds, and expects our participants to do the same.
