DESCRIPTION:Virtual Connections Winter 2020                  \n						Join us as we connect\, create\, and play for a bit of ECRS magic... on Zoom\n						\n						\n					\n				\n					\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Start: December 26\, 2020 1:00pmEnd: January 1\, 2021 1:00am (or later)…\nWe can’t be in person\, but the spirit of Winter Adventure is alive and well with not-your-average-Zoom classes the week leading up to New Year’s Eve. Then join us for a New Year’s Eve extravaganza of programming. Just like when we’re in person\, we’ll cap off the evening with a candlelight ceremony followed by ice cream and dancing. Dancing\, games and other late night activities could last all night long! \nSpread out classes = Many opportunities to connect\n\nClasses programming will run from December 26 – 30. Every day will include several classes to choose from – ranging from 45 minutes to three hours (I’m looking at you\, Small Scenes and The Write Stuff!). Pick just one\, or come every day! \n\n\nGroup activities for building community\nIn addition to classes\, we will have group events\, a full program for New Year’s Eve\, and low-effort late-night activities (like game rooms or chat rooms or dance rooms). We will take this time to honor and remember those we have lost from our ECRS community.  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Winter Connections kickoff activities 2:00 - 3:00pm\n				To kick off almost a week of virtual gatherings\, let’s get together to greet the ECRS family you know\, meet new friends\, and connect with each other. Come ease into things with some short interactive fun on Zoom. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Small Scenes (Glenn & Isaac Lebwohl-Steiner) 3:00 - 6:00pm\n				Comedy\, drama\, maybe some film noire. Join this new adventure in small scenes. Extra-short scenes for two or three people using “little scripts”. We will cast ahead of time\, then create /rehearse\, and perform over two days. \nClass size limited to 12Must commit to both Saturday and Sunday sessions. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Body Percussion (Judy Freed) 4:30 - 5:30pm\n				Using the body as a musical instrument\, we will stamp\, slap\, and clap to create rhythmic orchestrations. This class is a fun way to exercise your brain and body. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Laughter Yoga (Betsy Reinstein) 7:00 - 8:00pm\n				Did you know laughter not only improves your mood and relieves stress\, but boosts your immune system? \nLaughter yoga is easy to do exercises designed to get you to laugh for no reason. It is for anyone of any age or ability. All you need is a playful spirit and a willingness to be silly and allow your inherent joyfulness to emerge. These days – more than ever – we can all use a good laugh. \nClass size limited to 11 \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Laughter Yoga #2 (Shimon Birnbaum) 7:00 - 8:00pm\n				Did you know laughter not only improves your mood and relieves stress\, but boosts your immune system? \nLaughter yoga is easy to do exercises designed to get you to laugh for no reason. It’s about engaging group participants virtually. We will play with Zoom functions to experience the many ways you can involve meeting or workshop participants. We’ll have discussions\, chat\, answer a poll\, draw or write on a whiteboard\, and more. Renee’s assistant/co-host is Shanti Tula.  \nClass limited to 20 \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Fun with Covid19 Math (Brian Rudnick) 3:30 - 4:30pm\n				Understanding how things work is a powerful antidote to feelings of helplessness and can make for interesting conversation! Come explore the ways math is very much involved in the phenomenon of the Covid-19 pandemic. We’ll do the math together with pencil paper and minimal props. \nMath-neophytes and math-phobics especially welcome! \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Play and Improv (Howard Moody) 7:00 - 8:00pm\n				Come take a fun break with nice mix of energizers\, games and improv theater games that work well on Zoom. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Song & Joke Swap (Jacquie Adain) 8:30 - 9:30pm\n				Each participant can ‘lead’ a song from Rise Up Singing preceded by telling a joke. Others will be invited to sing along though they would need to be muted. In a safe\, supportive\, and nurturing environment we will share these stories aloud with each other. There will also be an optional opportunity to share our stories with the larger ECRS community in a special New Year’s Eve showcase. \nThis class is appropriate for people who have always wanted to write and never thought they could\, experienced writers with a regular writing practice\, and everyone in between. It promises to be a great kick off to a fun-filled evening of celebration.  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Fun from the Zoom fireplace 9:00pm to around midnight\n				Two 45-minute chunks brought to you by a variety of seasoned ECRS leaders who have spent the pandemic honing their Zoom savvy. Expect a fun mix of games\, dancing\, performance art and other interactive stuff.
