BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The ECRS Board of Directors has final responsibility for most decisions, the exception being issues that are taken directly to the membership. Board members are elected to terms of three years, and are not paid for their services. To contact the Board of Directors, please send an email to ecrsboard@gmail.com.

COMMITTEES
Our organization makes provision for the following committees, although not all of them are currently active, and many of these fuctions are handled by just one or two people.

CEUs – Assure proper information exchange between accrediting body (via National Rec. Labs) and ECRS. Make sure required paperwork is on file (staff resumes, course outlines) and that all students requesting CEUs receive them.


CHILDREN’S – Coordinates programming, policies, staffing, and support for children and families attending ECRS events. ECHOES – Provide ECHOES editors with relevant, timely info to publish in quarterly newsletters to members.


ELECTIONS – Monitor election procedures which include drawing up list of eligible people, sending out nomination ballots, contacting nominees, and sending out election ballots.


FINANCE – Make sure that budget is drawn up, help establish event rates. Monitor expenses and general cash flow.


FOUNDATIONS AND GRANTS – Identify projects/ideas for grants, and provide organizational information to grant writers. Ideally lives in NY/Philadelphia area.


FUNDRAISING – Manage various fundraising activities such as annual appeal, auction, regional group events.


LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT – Attend and take part in LDC meeting, report back to Board.

LITERATURE – Oversee chairperson to make sure – Oversee chairperson to make sure ECRS maintains adequate inventory and that materials are available at events. Introduce appropriate new materials and help with ordering when necessary.


MAILING – Liaison between Board and members who assist with mailings. Maintain accurate data base of current member information.


MARKETING – Monitor promotional activities and materials (events, flyers, brochures, website, video projects).


MEMBERSHIP – Monitor membership, renewals, lifetime members. Help keep member information current (address changes, etc.) by forwarding them to person maintaining computer list.


REGIONAL GROUPS – Support and consult with regional members who are interested in promoting ECRS outreach activities in their respective areas.


SCHOLARSHIP – Consult with chairperson about number of scholarships to award, help decide who should get program scholarships. Work on recruiting candidates for scholarships.


SITE SELECTION – Review information about potential sites, manage site selection process to make sure sites meet our criteria and that searches are conducted in timely manner.


WEEKENDS – Make sure that weekend chair does staffing, site reservations and communications with sites about weekend events.
